Bolton - copyright 2024 Escape2Adk Ideally located near the center of Lake George on the west side Bolton and the village of Bolton Landing, NY, is the home of the famous Sagamore Resort as well as many restaurants, taverns, resorts, and marinas. In addition to the fantastic waterfront scene, Bolton is a great base camp for exploring the southeast Adirondacks. In the summer, visitors can enjoy outdoor adventures like hiking and mountain climbing in the Adirondack Mountains, check out local boutiques and farmers markets, and attend local events such as car shows, Americade and live music performances.

In the winter, there are many other local activities such as downhill skiing,  snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snowshoing, and ice fishing. Several villages nearby such as Lake George and Brant Lake have winter carnivals.

The town is bordered on the east by Lake George and on the west by the Schroon River. The crystal-clear lake offers a range of water sports including boating, kayaking, fishing, sailing, para-sailing, and jet-skiing, while you can explore the Schroon by kayak or tube. To the south lies Diamond Point and the village of Lake George, while the town is bordered on the north by Horicon, Hague and Silver Bay.

Hikers will find plenty to explore in and around Bolton, with numerous hikes to several local mountaintop views and woodland hikes alongside lakes, ponds, and streams.

Bolton Landing itself is brimming with charm and local flair with a mix of charming shops and cozy eateries. Enjoy a relaxed day of browsing unique crafts and eating great food.
