Length: 2.2 miles
Difficulty: Easy
Trailhead: Next to Stewart Creek and NY Rte 8, coincident with Oregon Trail (which is not mentioned on the signage.) Note, there is  parking area here on the south side of NY-28 and the trailhead is at the west end of the parking area. The trail is difficult to see from the road. When heading west on NY-28, the “Cod Pond” sign is very visible on the north side of the road.
Type: Out-and-back, ends at Cod Pond.
Elevation Gain: 270 ft

The trail is easy to follow but be aware that there are several muddy and several stony spots along the trail. There are frequently several trees down across places in the trail. After about 1/5 mile the trail splits from the Oregon Trail. At this point there is a registration book and clear signs for Cod Pond.
